Okay, so Miriam convinced me to start blogging. She said I have "interesting things to say that the world ought to hear". I'm not entirely sure what she means by that.
I'm a keen cyclist, bowler and weekend drinker. I read a lot of Sci-Fi, and I'm a hobbyist programmer. I have this ongoing project to automate as much of my flat as possible - you know, motion sensors so the lights turn on when I walk in and the computers shut down when I walk out, voice control for the kettle, check on the cat from the office, that sort of thing. ... Some ideas are more realistic than others. :) I'll let you know how it's going and put up photos of what I've got so far if I get the time.
As far as work goes, well, I'm a systems administrator. BOFH and all that. For the most part it's mundane. Well, usually. Thank God for good friends!
